Merry Christmas from the Domestic Dreamboat family!
This year is going to be a low key one for us here in Wisconsin. No visitors this year, as we will be seeing our family (parents from both sides!) in Mexico in a few weeks. So it will be just us for a quiet family Christmas.
We started our Holiday weekend with a trip to the Children’s Museum, lunch out and checking out the giant Christmas tree in the Capitol building. Can you believe this is our 4th year in the Madison area and only our first time seeing the Capitol building tree? Then we came home and did a little snowman making (actually snow-woman – her name is Alyssa).
Cooking is going to be minimal for me this Christmas too. Camilla requested spaghetti and meatballs for Christmas eve dinner. Totally not Christmasy and a huge departure from the Ukrainian food my family is used to eating, but I had no plans to cook for days to make the traditional Ukrainian dishes for the 4 of us, when in reality only the 2 adults would even eat it. So spaghetti and meatballs it is.
Christmas dinner will be a very small ham, with some kind of roasted veggies and (store bought) perogies.
I hardly even did any baking, with the exception of this cute little gingerbread house we made (which was the first time I made one from scratch – no kit!)
So that’s what my Christmas will look like this year, and I can’t wait! However you and your family celebrate, I hope it is filled with love and joy, and of course, fun!
