    Introducing Baby J!

Hubby and I, and Big Sister Peanut are very excited to introduce our newest addition, a baby boy. After what seemed like a very long wait, he was born on his due date of April 12th. Slightly bigger than his sister was at 8lbs 1oz and 21".

Mom and Sister I actually went into labor at a friend's baby's first birthday party. Maybe it was the gardening I did earlier that day, or maybe it was the yummy food at the party. Or maybe he was just ready to join in on the action, who knows. After spending a couple of hours at home, I told my midwife I was on the way to the birth center. After a very uncomfortable car ride and walk through the hospital, I was admitted. I was glad that my labor was significantly shorter than my first.

Big Sister The next morning, Big Sister and the grandparents arrived at the hospital to meet the new baby. Peanut was, and is still very excited. She is a great helper, and especially likes rocking him in his cradle and singing him lullabies. babySo far, Baby J is quite a calm baby, which is a very different experience than my first. Or maybe I am just a more calm mom this time around and am better able to deal with a newborn. He sure likes to eat though! Like most new moms, I feel like half my day is spent nursing! As expected, I've been busy taking care of this little baby and trying to keep spending as much time as possible with Peanut. So that might mean fewer blog posts over the next few weeks. I'm sure it will mean less cooking at least. Good thing I have a full freezer!

We are overjoyed to have this little guy in our lives and are super excited for all the firsts to come, especially seeing how baby brother and big sister interact.

I think I'll be able to make it there sooner than next month. Maybe next week.

No rush, whenever you and Baby James feel like it. Of course, the longer you wait, the better the weather will be. 🙂

Made that Costa Rican Beans and Rice. Delicious! Will make more soon.
