Welcome, and thanks for visiting my little corner of the internet! If you’ve found your way here thanks to a click through Pinterest, or a recipe related Google search, I’m glad you’re here! Before you get lost in all the recipes I’ve made for you, let me tell you a little bit more about Domestic Dreamboat. If you want to learn a little more about me, Meet Carissa.

Domestic Dreamboat – What’s with the name?

I will be the first to admit that “Domestic Dreamboat” is a strange name. To me, it invokes the image of a ’50’s era housewife with a spotless house, perfectly coiffed hair and an apron, waiting for her husband to arrive home from work. In reality, I could not be more different from this fictitious character. My house is almost always a mess, I almost never wear makeup, and you can usually find me donning some sort of mismatched athleisure outfit that was probably picked up off my bedroom floor.

I chose the name Domestic Dreamboat for my blog because it was a bit of an inside joke between my husband and I. When we first moved in together, whenever I’d attempt to do something “domestic” like bake a cake or vacuum the floor, he’d jokingly swoon and call me his Domestic Dreamboat. The name stuck, and when I decided to start a blog, I knew that I would run with that name.

How do I find a recipe?

There are a number of ways to find what you’re looking for on my site. The simplest way is to just browse all the recipes. Start at the homepage, and click through the numbered navigation on the bottom of the page. The higher the number, the older the recipes.

If you want to find recipes that are popular at the moment, simply check the sidebar on the right side of the page, and the top 6 most popular pages will be shown.

If you know exactly what you’re looking for, you can also search for a recipe in the search bar on the top right corner. You can also try searching for specific ingredients, or broader categories like “breakfast” or “snacks”.

I also have two recipe index pages. One is broken down by recipe category. Here you can find recipes by meal categories like “salads” or “beverages”.

Follow a special diet? You can also find recipes categorized by some common special diets like gluten free, dairy free, and vegan.
