Another year, come and gone. It seems so cliche that the older we get, the faster time seems to pass, but even my 6 year old daughter mentioned the other day how quickly the past year has gone.
For my family, 2018 has not been an awesome one. Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been horrible, but my family seemed to be plagued with illnesses - viruses, food poisoning, broken bones pretty much all year long. But of course there were good things too. We started out the new year in our hometown of Edmonton surrounded by family. And of course our annual trip to Nova Scotia where we got to spend a whole month on the beach, again with friends and family.
2018 has meant some new things for Domestic Dreamboat too. In September I had the amazing experience of travelling to Vermont to meet with lots of like-minded food and nutrition bloggers. I learned a ton, met some wonderful people, and had lots of fun. The trip inspired me to make some changes on my blog.
Right after the trip, I updated my posts with new categories to make it easier for people with special diet requirements to find recipes. I updated my logo and about me photo and upgraded my recipe plugin. I will continue to make changes to both my blog and social media feeds, hopefully continually improving them. If you have any suggestions of things you'd like to see from Domestic Dreamboat, please let me know.
Now for the 2018 numbers: In 2018 I published 35 posts. As usual, I wrote about a variety of recipes that I would actually feed my family on a regular basis at home. I find myself being a bit more choosy about when I decide to publish on my blog over the past year or so. If I don't think anyone could make a recipe with ordinary kitchen equipment and without a very large time commitment, I won't publish it. After all, I changed my motto to Real. Approachable. Food.
Of all the recipes I published in 2018, my favorite (and the one I make most often) is Quick and Easy Italian Sausage Soup. What's your favorite?
