An apron is an essential tool for any home cook. They protect your clothes from splatters, and a well designed one will carry your tools and make you feel great!
Disclaimer: I was provided with an apron free of charge in return for my honest review. As always, all opinions expressed in this post are my own.
I used to never wear aprons. But then I started seeing all these little grease stains appearing on my shirts. I'd take them out of the closet, and there would be just a little dark stain in a super obvious spot, right on the front of my shirt. And I keep a small wardrobe, so I can't afford to lose my favorite tops to grease stains. Those stains were coming from cooking. Splatters from cooking at the stove, or when mixing something up. And okay, probably from me dripping my food down the front of my clothes too, since I'm a super messy eater.
I realized that I should probably start wearing an apron when I'm in the kitchen. So I opened my pantry, and sifted through the several aprons that I already owned. None of them were particularly appealing. Poor fit, poor clothing coverage, or just ugly. So imagine my delight when a local company called ApronEra agreed to send me one of their super cute, super functional denim aprons. I had been admiring their aprons on Instagram for months, and now my poor wardrobe didn't need so suffer the wrath of grease stains anymore.
My apron arrived wrapped in a bright red ribbon, accompanied by instructions on how to achieve the perfect fit. After adjusting the buttons and straps slightly, I was set. My cousin-in-law happened to be visiting the day it arrived. She has spent several years working in professional kitchens, and has probably worn her fair share of aprons. Her immediate comment was "I love how it doesn't hang from the back of your neck!", which was not something I really would have considered when looking for an apron. But, she is definitely right - it does make a huge difference to the comfort of the apron.
The fabric is sturdy, just like your favorite pair of dark denim jeans. It's low maintenance (Hello Tumble Dry!) It's got several deep pockets in which I can stuff my utensils, or hang a towel from to easily wipe my hands.
But can we please talk about the biggest benefit of my new apron? I think it's obvious. This apron just looks good! Since in comes in several sizes, it fits everyone perfectly. I can not say the same for the other aprons I own - those ones mostly fit like a flour sack, hung loosely at the front, still allowing drips and splatters to bypass the apron. I can definitely keep this one on when my friends arrive for a dinner party, and I feel just as comfortable wearing it with a dress as I do with my yoga pants. Actually, I think the apron actually looks better than most of the clothes you'll often find me wearing in my kitchen (pajamas!), and it almost makes me want to put some real clothes on to cook! Almost.

Wow you look gorgeous, Carissa! And in an apron no less! I’ve never seen anything like it. It makes the French chef aprons I keep stuffed in a drawer (and don’t ever feel motivated enough to pull out and put on) seem boring and bulky. Think I’d be inspired to wear this apron—which would save soooo many of my clothes from the inevitable splatters and sarrowful stains!

Thank you so much! It really is a great apron, and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting lots of use out of it for many years!

Omg...cool apron! I don’t wear an apron when I cook because they make me feel fat. But this one actually looks like it could do justice to my curves.
Carissa
Yes! This apron is definitely designed to hug curves and flatter every body shape!

The back of the apron reminds me of suspenders, which is super cool.
Carissa
Yes, and functional too! The suspender like straps prevent it from putting extra weight on the back of your neck - so nice!
