Change up your margarita and make it a Cilantro Lime Margarita. The flavorful herb adds fresh flavor that complements the lime in your favorite cocktail.
Add 1 cup coarsely chopped cilantro leaves and/or stems, 1/2 cup lime juice, 1/2 cup water, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar to a blender. Blend until smooth. Allow the juice to settle for a minute or two, then scoop off any pale green foam that has formed on the top and discard. Pour the juice through a fine mesh strainer, and scoop any remaining foam from the strained juice.
Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice. Add the cilantro lime juice, 4 ounces tequila, and a large pinch of salt. Shake well and strain into two glasses that are 3/4 full of crushed (or cubed) ice.
Notes
The cilantro-lime juice can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge for a couple of days, but after that the bright green color begins to fade.
