If I've learned anything from watching food blogs and Pinterest this summer, it's that people LOVE smores. And not just your regular old campfire marshmallow-and-chocolate-between-graham wafers smores, but all kinds of things like smores ice cream, popsicles, bars, cookies, cakes, and of course, smores ice cream cake. This time though, I made Super Gooey Smores Pizza.

Pizza dough with chocolate chips and graham pieces

I came up with this one after making homemade pizza. I had made a couple of pizzas and used up all of my pizza topping ingredients, but I still had a little bit of pizza dough left. Always industrious, and never wanting to waste anything, I scoured my pantry for dessert pizza toppings. I had chocolate chips (I never NOT have chocolate chips), graham crackers and some homemade marshmallow fluff. And come on, what sounds better than smores pizza?

So I stretched out the dough, sprinkled it with chocolate chips and broken up graham wafers, and dropped dollops of marshmallow fluff on top of it all. If you don't have marshmallow fluff, just use regular marshmallows; either mini or regular will be fine.

    Smores pizza on the grill

Bake it up as if you were making any homemade pizza - on a hot pizza stone in a hot (500°F) oven or grill. It won't take long to cook, 10 minute at the most. When you take it out, the chocolate and marshmallow will be all melty and gooey. You will want to put the whole thing straight into your mouth, but try not to. No one wants a pizza burn!

    Cooked smores pizza

Cut it up into 4 wedges and share it with someone you love. After all, this pizza tastes really, really good, but it's by no means a low calorie treat. Eating the whole thing yourself would be closer to eating a whole days worth of calories than a meals worth of calories.

I shared mine with my little Peanut. She thought it was pretty much the best thing ever (if you can't tell that by looking at her face). And no, this pizza isn't much less messy than regular smores, but at least you don't need a campfire.
